2010 Woodward Stock | Shelley Edwards Photography

Last weekend I had a fantastic time! I spent the weekend with several other local (and even one from PA) photographers. We gather once a year – Woodward Stock! Let me just tell ya – we ALWAYS have such a great time. You’d think because we one another’s competition that we would be enemies – but we’re not. We share photo tips, marketing ideas, and even models!  We’re all great friends and I cannot wait until 2011!

Here are a few of the images I captured -

Greatful for Girlfriends & Giggles | Shelley Edwards Photography

One of my girlfriends, Kim Higgins, contacted me recently about a really AWESOME project she was working on and wanted to know if I would do Fun & Funky group/head shots for her and her “Go To” girls.  Of course, you know what I said, H*ll to the yeah!  I was so honored.  Now, I was sworn to secrecy.  I couldn’t say anything to anybody – but I can talk now!  I’m so honored to be a part of http://www.g3girls.com – and I encourage all my gal pals to join the on-line magazine – its FREE!

A few weeks ago, we board a fun party bus and hit the streets.  We went to Deep Ellum, the Stockyards, and the Shops of Legacy.  Ok, not really the Shops of Legacy, but at Kim’s super duper cool townhouse.  Those townhouses by the Shops of Legacy are freaking cool!

I’ll be posting a few pix of the launch party in the next few days – so keep checking back!

Here are a few of my favorites …..

Where’s Shelley | D/FW Photographer

OMG – has it really been since September since I last posted on my blog?  Well, actually, it has been.  Why?  I’ll tell you why.  I’m lazy.  Most of you know that I spend time on Facebook, so I’m pretty current there.  However, shame on me for not posting on my blog more frequently!!!  I seriously can’t believe how bad I’ve been.

Things have been going VERY well – I totally can’t believe we’re at the end of 2009.  I had a fun photoshoot this past weekend with a GREAT group of ladies.  They’re about to launch something BIG, but I cannot say.  I’m sworn to secrecy.  Those of you that work with me know that I can keep a secret – so don’t even try to get this one out of me.  I’m so excited that I was able to play a small part – these ladies are amazing!

I’m able to share some of the image I took – just a teaser you know.

A dog, a cat, and a rat!

A dog, a cat, and a rat!

Just Hummin’ right along!

I’m sure my neighbors think I’m crazy. I’m often out in the backyard with my camera. I really like photographing the critters that come visit us! My favorite visitors are the Hummingbirds (well, all birds that is). I absolutely do NOT enjoy the squirrels. They steal my pecans and my dogs, Ripley & Kelley, are not the great backyard protectors that they think they are.

I’m attaching a few of our visitors from the weekend.

\m/ The Circle \m/

A few weeks ago, I went to The Door in Plano to do a quick photoshoot of my friend’s band – The Circle – www.freethecircle.com – had a super time.  I had a heck of a time with my flash – next time – I’ll do a much better job.  These are my favorites – I have no idea why they’re posting so small – I didn’t do anything different than before – hmmmmmmm.  I hate puzzles – but like good alternative music.

2009 – Another Jefferson visit

This past summer, we again, went to Jefferson, Texas.  Yep – we stayed at the Busy B Ranch, and yep, in cabin #2.  It’s my favorite cabin.   I think it has the BEST view of the lake.  This year, it was kind of eerie – we were the ONLY peeps in the area.  However, we had our fun too.  We shot off fireworks, fed the raccoons, burned the ribs, and went to visit Jefferson.  Naturally,  I HAD to do the Jefferson Ghost Walk.  This year, Michael sat out, but Cameron remained the trooper – she went with me.  I caught a few orbs at the Jefferson Hotel, and Cameron swears that she felt someone tugging at her clothes at one of the houses.  Regardless if there is some logical explanation, we can be sure – we’ll do the Ghost Walk again.  Oh, and by the way, my FAVORITE purchase over the weekend was my coffee mug from the Jefferson General Store.  I LOVE IT!!!!

Enjoy the pictures!!!

Summertime – Cool down!

A few weeks ago, I had an idea that I wanted to try out on one of my 2010 senior models.  I met her down by her pool and we took some really fun shots!!!  KL is ALWAYS up for doing modeling stuff with me and I’m so glad – she’s so fun to work with.  What we captured was so much better than what I had envisioned!!!!

Are you ready for a unique senior portrait?

Rylee – She needs a good home

This past Sunday, we adopted a chocolate lab from a coworker. He recently divorced & moved into an apartment. He was looking for a home for Rylee, and my husband wanted her. He wanted that “manly” dog the could go fishing with him and pal around with him. We have 2 little bittie dogs at home (Ripley & Kelley) – both weigh under 10 lbs.  Those two, those he loves them dearly, aren’t very manly.   One is a Lhasa Apso & the other is a one-eyed Shitzu.

About 2 or so hours after he left Rylee with us on Sunday, the dogs all got into a fight.  We tried a few techniques that one of my friend gave us (she and her daughter show dogs).  They got into another fight on Tuesday. Since then, my little dogs are terrified of Rylee. They froth at the mouth & won’t go outside if Rylee’s out there.  I called my coworker – broken hearted – that we couldn’t keep her.  Unfortunately, he couldn’t take her back either.  He tried the lab rescue, but they wouldn’t take her – I don’t know why.  His only alternative was to put her into an animal shelter.  A WHAT?

Of course, there is no freak’n  way we’d allow Rylee to go an animal shelter, so Michael and I are trying to find Rylee a good and loving home.   She’s VERY sweet and smart. She’s good around my kids and loves to go for walks around the neighborhood.   She knows how to sit, lay down, shake (sometimes) and LOVES to chase balls, frisbees, etc.  I was told she’s mostly housebroken – but I can tell you – she’s never had an accident over the 3 days she’s been at our house.  She is also crate trained.

Rylee is a chocolate lab (she doesn’t have papers, but the original owner is going to contact the breeder) and is current on all her shots. She’s 6 or 7 month’s old and right now weighs 35lbs. Most likely, she’ll get to be about 50lbs (maybe).

If you’re interested or know of someone that would be – please ping me – 214.538.8033!!

I haven't seen any white patches on her coat at all - doesn't she have amazing eyes?
