Ok – this was so much fun to do. We saw a few signs around town and decided to sign up for the Ghost Walk. The guide is a local historian and told us up front that her only role is to tell the history of the buildings and will follow-up with some of the local stories. The tour was a night – it was hot and muggy. My little girl was all for the Ghost Walk – until it was time to do the Ghost Walk!! My husband complained the entire time – he was hot, it was muggy, and he didn’t want to walk around. OY! Our friends that went to Jefferson with us – I’m glad they were game!! I didn’t hear them complain at all!
We had a few armature ghost hunters with us and they tried taping EVPs (electronic voice phenomenon), but all that got on tape were the little boys that would NOT stop talking.
At one point in the evening, she told us we would come to an area of town that just gives everyone the “heebie jeebies”. She further said that she wasn’t going to tell us the spot – that we would just know. She was right! I was standing next to her and we both felt a chill & the hair on our arms just stood up – talk about the goose bumps!!!
Before we went on the tour – we stopped by the local cemetery. A friend wanted me to take a picture of Diamond Bessie’s Grave. The cemetery was way to big and it was getting too dark to find it. So, I just snapped a few pictures. The bright spot you see above the sign is NOT the moon. The mood was behind us. That my friends – is an orb. Maybe it was Diamond Bessie saying “hi!”
